Aton's Rattle is an original wood sculpture done in Yellow Cedar, the cedar was reclaimed off of Wreck Beach in Vancouver, BC in the late 1960's. The piece is completely carved by hand using hand chisels, rasps and files. It was finished off by sanding down then putting on the traditional finish of boiled linseed oil/bees wax/turpentine. The finish you see was accomplished by polishing it by hand over a period of a year. When this finish has cured as it is then it only needs be wiped down with a dry lint-free cloth.
